I started dancing about three years ago completely on a fluke. It was something I always wanted to do but somehow it was never the right time. One of my friends was over visiting and mentioned that she had started Belly Dancing. I was instantly intrigued. She invited me to attend her next class the following week and I was hooked.
 
I love belly dancing for so many reasons. It is a dance for women, about women. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, thin or overweight or tall or short. How exciting that we can celebrate our bodies and how they move instead of picking apart the things we don’t like.
 
Since I have always wanted to own my own business I decided that I might as well do something that I love and, from that, Shimmy Boutique was born.
